Nasolabial Folds – Dermal Fillers Kent, Lip Fillers Kent, Gravesend
Nose to mouth lines, also known as Nasolabial Folds, are creases that run either side of the nose down to the corners of your mouth.
Nasolabial folds most commonly referred to as smile or laugh lines. Most patients describe them as two skin folds on the side of the nose and corner of the mouth. Their aim is to separate the cheek and upper lip distinct. As we age these folds become pronounced.
Most people do not like the way these folds make them look, and seek dermal filler treatments to help minimise the ageing process.
What causes Nasolabial Folds on my face?
- Ageing process
- Loss of volume from our cheeks, mid face and upper face
- Laughing, smiling & facial expressions
- Sun damage
- Weakening of facial muscles
These are the causes of most wrinkles on the face. This is why at Sculpture we aim to look at the causes first before treatment. Many unexperienced practitioners simply fill the nasolabial folds. After consultation with our advanced dermal filler practitioner, an action plan will be made up to get the best results that lasts the longest, with a natural look.
Our expert opinion on treatment
Gravity is the real cause for these lines and folds. Most of the time these folds are pronounced due to sagging cheeks, flattening of the cheeks and loss of volume in the mid face.
The ideal treatment plan would be to defy gravity and add a lift to your mid-face. This is done by injecting the right dermal filler into the exact parts of the mid-face.
Once we have performed your liquid mid-facelift, we would then review you in 3 to 4 weeks and decide if your smile lines need any extra dermal filler treatment for longevity & a natural aesthetic profile.
